Endless Swimming Pool

One form of water feature is sought after not because of the sound it makes, but because of a seemingly space defying endlessness. One of its names in fact is an endless swimming pool. A vanishing edge swimming pool gives the appearance of the ocean horizon.

Zero Edge Swimming Pool

This type of swimming pool feature is also call a zero edge swimming pool. This is because of the lack of coping on the side that flows over to the trough. The water flows over a lowered area on the bond beam. The water then rolls down in to a second water vessel called a trough. The water is then pumped through a filter and back in to the main swimming pool.

Infinity Swimming Pool

Another good name for the vanishing edge pool is infinity edge swimming pool. The edge does give the appearance that it is infinite. If you venture to the other side, you will see that it is not infinite. The function side of a vanishing edge pool can be a water feature unto itself. The water can be directed to slowly trickle down the wall or a weir effect can be employed in which the water it forced to defy gravity and shoot forth creating a magical sound as it crashes to the lower vessel.

Perimeter Flow Swimming Pools

Perimeter flow swimming pools are basically a vanishing edge pool all the way around the swimming pool. There is typically still a trough to collect the water, but the rest of the edge flows in to a sliver in between the swimming pool and the coping. From here it is directed by gravity drains to the trough or a surge tank. The Perimeter flow swimming pool takes water features to a new level.
